Child Safety Standards
Last updated June 28, 2026
509 Connection is an adults-only (18+) dating app for the Haitian and Caribbean community. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page describes our standards and the steps we take to prevent, detect, and respond to CSAE, in line with Google Play's child safety standards policy and applicable law.
1. Our commitment
We prohibit any content, conduct, or use of 509 Connection that sexualizes, abuses, exploits, or endangers children. This includes CSAM, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, the solicitation or enticement of a minor, and any attempt to use the service to facilitate harm to a child. Violations result in immediate removal and a permanent ban, and are reported to the appropriate authorities.
2. Adults only — no minors
- 509 Connection is restricted to users 18 years of age or older. Users provide a date of birth at sign-up and accounts under 18 are not permitted.
- If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it promptly.
- Optional identity verification (the "verified" badge) is available to help confirm that users are real adults.
3. What is prohibited
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any depiction of a minor in a sexual context.
- Grooming, solicitation, enticement, or sexualized communication directed at a minor.
- Sextortion, trafficking, or any sexualization or exploitation of a child.
- Sharing, requesting, or linking to CSAE content of any kind.
4. How we prevent and detect CSAE
- Age restriction. The service is age-gated to adults (18+) at registration.
- Reporting and blocking. Every user can report and block another user or content directly in the app.
- Moderation. Our team reviews reports and takes action, including removing content and permanently banning accounts.
- Identity verification. Optional verification helps deter bad actors and fake accounts.
5. How to report child safety concerns
If you encounter content or behavior that may involve a child, please report it immediately:
- In the app: use Report on the user's profile or in chat.
- By email: contact our child safety team at team@509connection.com with the subject "Child Safety." Include any usernames, screenshots, or details that help us act quickly.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement first.
6. How we respond
- We promptly review reports of CSAE and remove violating content and accounts.
- We permanently ban users who violate these standards.
- We report apparent CSAM to the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the relevant authorities in the applicable jurisdiction, and cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.
- We preserve relevant records as required to support investigations.
7. Compliance
We comply with applicable child safety and CSAE laws in the jurisdictions where we operate, including legal reporting obligations. We review and update these standards as our service and the applicable requirements evolve.
